It's a strange summer in transportation labor news when we're seeing Germans strike before the Italians, Greeks, French, or Spanish.

A union representing cabin crew at German airline Lufthansa says its members plan to go on strike after talks on pay and conditions broke down.

German news agency dapd reported that the UFO union announced walkouts at all the German airports where Lufthansa has staff hours after talks with the company failed on Tuesday. It didn’t give details but said the walkouts would not start on Tuesday.

Members of UFO voted in favor of strike action in early August but the union held off on immediate action while it continued negotiations with Lufthansa.
